6 Paint Colors That Transformed Our Home – And Will Transform Yours Too
Let’s be honest—choosing the right paint color for your home can feel like an impossible task. What looks beautiful in a tiny paint swatch might suddenly feel too dark, too cool, or just not right once it’s covering an entire wall.
I’ve been there. I’ve stared at countless paint chips, tested swatches in different lights, and second-guessed myself more times than I’d like to admit. But in the end, I found a few timeless, versatile shades that transformed our home in the best way.
I’m so excited to share some before and afters with you and details on exactly what the colors are, so you can check them out if you are needing color inspiration too! I’m also excited to share my biggest tip with you at the end when it comes to paint samples - don’t miss it!
Before and After Paint Color Transformation in our primary bedroom
When we moved into our house, the whole thing was painted in an almost almond/buttercream yellow - the shades varied from room to room. It would be a perfect shade on a cake but not for our home. I love the transformative power paint holds and painting the entire house was on our to-do list before we moved our furniture in.
Here are my six favorite top paint colors we chose that completely transformed our home!
I love selecting colors that feel timeless and the Benjamin Moore Historical Color Collection is my favorite go-to for just that. All of these colors are from this collection, with the exception of the bonus color I’m sharing at the end.
Whether you're starting fresh or just refreshing a space, these are my top five go-to timeless paint colors that have made a statement in my own home. I hope they inspire you, too! Shout out to Hoover Paint Store for always being my go-to for exceptional customer service and top quality products.
1. Narragansett Green – Benjamin Moore
If you love deep, moody hues, Narragansett Green is an absolute dream. This color is the perfect balance of green and blue, with an almost blackened depth that makes it feel rich and sophisticated.
We used it in our dining room to create a cozy, dramatic feel, and it instantly made the room feel curated and intentional. It is my favorite room in our house and I get asked about this paint color every single time I post about it.
In the future, when we get rid of the popcorn ceiling, I’ll paint the ceiling to match.

2. Baby Fawn – Benjamin Moore
For those who love warm neutrals, Baby Fawn is a soft, inviting greige that works in almost any room. It pairs beautifully with both modern and traditional styles, offering just enough warmth to feel welcoming without reading too beige.
It’s a staple in our home because it works effortlessly with different textures and materials. You’ll find it on the walls in all of our main spaces and I absolutely love the warmth it brings.

3. Sussex Green – Benjamin Moore
I’m green obsessed, I fully admit it. If you are also drawn to earthy greens, Sussex Green is a stunning, deep olive tone that brings a sense of nature indoors. It pairs beautifully with wood tones and warm neutrals, making it a standout choice for any space.
I love this color in our primary bedroom as it seems to just wrap you up in a cozy blanket of earthen green. It feels calm and balanced and creates the perfect haven for rest.
I am still debating painting the ceiling the same color. We only have one small dormer window in our bedroom and so for now, I left the ceiling white so that it doesn’t feel too dark. But I can be convinced to paint it…what do you think?

4. Simply White – Benjamin Moore
No paint list is complete without the perfect white, and Simply White is just that. It’s clean, crisp, and has the slightest warmth to keep it from feeling stark. Whether you’re using it on walls, trim, or cabinetry, this shade is a tried-and-true classic that never fails.
Though this bathroom project has yet to begin, we started with paint. We have it paired next to Sussex Green in our bathroom and the space feels fresh and timeless. I’m excited to finish the remodel on that bathroom in the near future!

5. Odessa Pink – Benjamin Moore
We found the perfect Pink - actually our 5 year old did! We gave her a few options for her room, which she was determined to saturate in her favorite shade, and I couldn’t be more pleased with her decision!
Pink doesn’t have to feel overly sweet—Odessa Pink is proof of that. It’s a muted, earthy pink that feels sophisticated and fresh rather than bubblegum or juvenile.
We love this in our daughter’s bedroom and it is the perfect shade of pink that she can grow with. It adds a subtle touch of color, and it’s quickly become one of my favorites for creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.

6: Limousine Leather – Behr
We wanted a few moody pops around the house to the tune of furniture and built-ins. (This built-in project has been a year+ coming and I’m excited to finally share the whole reveal soon!)
Limousine Leather by Behr is a stunning, velvety black that adds depth and elegance without overwhelming a space. We used it on a built-in feature, and it created the perfect contrast against lighter walls and wallpaper. We also refinished our coffee table in it and it was the perfect black pop. If you’re looking for a bold but timeless accent, this is the one.
